Lethbridge, Alberta Flood – Highlevel Bridge
As floodwaters continued to rise along the Oldman River, the effects of the flood became increasingly visible beneath Lethbridge’s iconic High Level Bridge. These photographs document the moment when water began flowing over the concrete structures at the base of the bridge, highlighting the scale of the flooding and the power of the Oldman River during high water conditions.
For residents of Lethbridge, the High Level Bridge is one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. Seeing the Oldman River reach levels rarely witnessed in the river valley offered a striking reminder of the force that shaped the coulees and landscape surrounding southern Alberta. These images capture a unique moment in the history of the Lethbridge flood and the relationship between the Oldman River and the High Level Bridge.

Aaron and I go way back… to highschool days driving around in his boat of a vehicle with all the latest computer technology that most of us wouldn’t see in our vehicles until a few years ago! Aaron has always known about the latest gadgetry, and when he told me about his FPV plane, I had to see it first hand! What better time to see an aerial view of Lethbridge, then the flood.
