Daily Photo Dose

I spent some time on the westside today at my folks place, right on the edge of the farm fields. Seemed like 100km winds. First shot is of the neighbors siding blowing off, a piece blew off, and flew right past me. Second shot is of squirt, as she stepped outside into the wind… hard to see with all the fur blowin in her face!

This little bugger snuck inside… So I shot him.

This tree blew over right at the roots!

I am always curious about some of the old buildings around Lethbridge. I was specifically interested in the top floor of this building and the small windows along the angled roof. I Finally found out what this one on 7th is all about: Originally the Wimpole Private Hospital in 1911, then became the Van Haarlem Hospital in 1913, then St. Michael’s Hospital in 1929. Currently the building is privately owned by Doug and Ryan Davidson, and operated as low income housing with nearly 30 tenants.Photo scanned from “Where Was It?” a book by Irma Dogterom compiling early Lethbridge buildings. I attempted to take the photograph from the same standpoint at the historical photo, but add my unique perspective by focusing specifically on the windows that first sparked my curiosity.

This place has always been a curiosity to me. When I saw Ken working in the window, I pulled over, snapped this shot, and went and bought myself a Fresh Steak! SOO Good!! The Alberta Meat Market is a family business, passed from father to son, and Ken will be the last one to run the market. Can’t wait for summer BBQ weather!

Still working out the kinks in shooting panoramics. Just might have to invest in a proper pano tripod head. <3
