Photography Theft.
I recently messaged an individual about one of my photos that was displayed as their profile photo on Facebook. The photo was not purchased, and had been downloaded directly from one of my websites. Generally I message these people and explain that downloading my photos is theft. It’s a quick apology and they take the photo down. However in this case, the individual responded with “Well then you should not but your pics on the web” if you want them stolen, and is perusing alleged trespassing charges against me. Seven days after speaking with him, he still has my photography work displayed as his Facebook profile photo, and continues to message me about perusing alleged trespassing charges for a photo I took in November of 2009.
This person’s logic is similar to “Don’t put items for sale in a store if you don’t want them stolen”
I don’t think artists in this town deserve this kind of treatment, and definitely should not feel threatened by someone who has stolen something from them.

I shot this a few weeks ago, and decided to compile this photo into a short gif timelapse.
Full Moon, Mines & The Highlevel Bridge
Minus 15 weather, and lots of technical difficulties made this shot really hard to achieve. The photo is composed of 3 different shots. 1 exposure for the moon, 1 exposure for the landscape, and a third exposure with least amount of camera shake/motion blur on the train crossing the bridge.

I ran out of my house, drove to the edge of the farm field and shot this hand held at 6400 ISO with a 400mm lens. 6400 iso is terrible quality… but, I got the shot.
Lethbridge Northern Lights
Danny Ponomar and I have an understanding that if either of us see the northern lights in Lethbridge, regardless of what time it is, we have to pick up the phone and call. SO, 1am this morning, I got the call. Here’s two shots I got before the northern lights faded.
