Many Thanks & Lumbreck Falls

Thank you for the huge response to yesterdays post! It’s incredible to have so much support from everyone out there! Here’s a few of the kind words from some of you:

“Thank you so much for continuing to share your work online, despite all those who steal, claim, and threaten local artists. Your art is appreciated.” -Kalisse

“Your photos are astounding. keep up the good work and don’t let the haters get to you!!” -Susan

“Some people just don’t get it! Simple arrogance and lack of education on such matters are no excuse for stealing people’s work.” – Deb

“Terrible to hear that someone is degrading your very talented work by essentially stealing it. I hope this issue gets resolved, and you get a number of emails of support!” – Andrew

Photography Theft.

leave a comment

I recently messaged an individual about one of my photos that was displayed as their profile photo on Facebook. The photo was not purchased, and had been downloaded directly from one of my websites. Generally I message these people and explain that downloading my photos is theft. It’s a quick apology and they take the photo down. However in this case, the individual responded with “Well then you should not but your pics on the web” if you want them stolen, and is perusing alleged trespassing charges against me. Seven days after speaking with him, he still has my photography work displayed as his Facebook profile photo, and continues to message me about perusing alleged trespassing charges for a photo I took in November of 2009.

This person’s logic is similar to “Don’t put items for sale in a store if you don’t want them stolen”
I don’t think artists in this town deserve this kind of treatment, and definitely should not feel threatened by someone who has stolen something from them.

If you support local artists email me directly at: jaime.vedres@gmail.com with a message, and I will be giving away 50% off discount codes for any of my work posted on this site.

Waterton Entrance 1941 to 2012

leave a comment

When I first acquired this 1940’s postcard, I assumed it was the building that now sits abandoned at the entrance to Waterton Lakes National Park. After shooting a comparison today, it appears to be an entirely different building, and slightly different location.
